At the heart of Elemental Interiors is our partnership, rooted in balance and connection, serving as the framework for our thoughtful and intuituve approach with every client.Elemental Interiors was founded in New York City in 2009 by Sarah Barrett and Megan Downing after working together at Thom Filicia Inc., where they developed their expertise across residential, hospitality, and editorial projects. Today, our studio is based in Montclair, New Jersey, designing homes throughout the Tri-State area and beyond.

Great design not only honors the visual aspects of a space, but the energy that only the heart and mind can see.

"Sarah and Megan are extremely talented designers, and they really care about your home. They helped me through the design and execution of an apartment renovation that ended up being quite complicated, and I could not have made it through it without their steadfast support and dedication. Their design is beautiful and I get compliments on it all the time. From layout to finishes to furnishing their taste is impeccable, and they will be a true partner in lovingly transforming your home."
